I went to Takachiho gorge, which is in Southern Japan. We can see the great view of the canyon. The canyon has walls of columns of jointed rocks. There are not many places where you can see this type of rocks.

How were the rocks born?
In the past, there was a river. One day, Mt.Aso, which is a volcano near there erupted ant its lava flowed into the river. After the lava got cold and became rocks, water carved out the shape you see. A normal river got a great view taking a long time.
